Committee members will be elected for the coming year. Every adult financial member and life member has a vote for who makes it onto the committee in the event of a vote. A vote occurs if there is more than 1 person nominated for an executive position (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) or if there are more than 13 nominations

Having recently been awarded the Gong for Musical Society Mildura’s “Into the Woods”, Connor Burns had backed it up with his outstanding portrayal as “Wally” in this year’s pantomime Hansel and Gretel, directed by Elyse Sturre. With nominations from previous recipients, Connor has been awarded the 2024 pantomime “DAME”. This award created by Steve Prescott is recognition for a performers achievements throughout the season. At the Musical Society Mildura, we have two major awards for our productions; one for our Pantomime called ‘The Dame’, and one for our main production for the year (excluding pantomime) called ‘The Gong’. Both of these are awarded to a person/people who have shown high excellence in their skills, and growth shown from the first rehearsal, to the final performance. It gives us great honour to share both of these winners. For our 2023 Pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, our Dame Award recipient is someone who hasn’t been on the stage for quite some time, yet took the show by storm, playing the true Aussie dwarf, Brian.

Musical Society Members, We as a committee would like to express how seriously we take your safety and wellbeing. Harassment, illegal and/or anti-social behaviour is NOT tolerated. If you have any concerns at all or just need to talk, every member of the committee is approachable, and we take everyone’s concerns seriously. We will continue to provide a safe environment for all ages and families to come and experience the wonders of performing onstage, learning new crafts and making lifelong friends.

Saturday afternoon (4th of June), members of Musical Society Mildura in conjunction with friends and family were honoured to announce our newest life member, Brenda Hudson. Brenda having served in many aspects of theatre; from committee, stage and behind the scenes, has and always will be a backbone to what makes us continue to do what we do. Brenda is also the first person to now hold the honoured title of being a GONG recipient for a major musical, a DAME recipient for performance in pantomime and now a life membership on top of it all. Congratulations Brenda, we look forward to seeing you more in our future productions –

It is with our great pleasure that we announce the newest Life Member of our Society.Christine Celegon’s first production in 1977 (The Sound of Music) was to start an evergreen career with our society that has spanned 43 productions. She has done it all, from on stage work in leading roles, unforgettable supporting roles and chorus member to backstage work, lighting, costumes, crew and the most hilarious continuity lady you will every find.We are proud to have Chris join our life members.
